We believe that every student and family should emerge from the assessment process with a thorough understanding of how that student's mind works, what strengths he or she brings to the learning process and, very specifically, where breakdowns in learning are occurring.
Giving a student a label cannot alone adequately reflect his or her unique combination of strengths and weaknesses. It is only by looking in detail at each of these strengths and weaknesses, something we call the neurodevelopmental profile, that students and parents can gain a genuine understanding that will lead to specific, feasible actions.
Families emerge from our assessment process with a sense of hopefulness and optimism that there is a real path for success -- not just a short term solution, but things that they can do that will make a significant difference in the student's life at school and at home for years to come.
You should expect to leave the assessment process with a clear understanding of the student's learning profile, a detailed strategy plan to build on strengths and manage weaknesses, our general recommendations regarding any actions that we believe would provide benefit, and guidance to help you make the best decisions moving forward.
