Services offered at The Yellin Center for Student Success |
Comprehensive Neurodevelopmental Assessment
• |

Review of various materials, including: parent, teacher, and student questionnaires, results of previous assessments, school reports, and work samples
|
• |
|
Neurodevelopmental assessment by a senior neurodevelopmentalist (a board certified pediatrician or licensed psychologist with specialized training and experience in our clinical model)
|
• |
|
Educational assessment by a learning specialist (either a teacher or school psychologist with specialized training and experience in our clinical model)
|
• |
|
Physical examination, including review of your child’s medical history and neurological status by a board certified pediatrician
|
• |
|
Hearing and vision screening
|
• |
|
Screening for significant emotional difficulties
|
• |
|
“Demystification” on the day of the assessment to provide immediate feedback and preliminary findings
|
• |
|
A detailed written report, including summaries of the medical and neurological examinations, the neurodevelopmental assessment, the educational assessment, a description of your child’s Learning Profile, a description of how the Learning Profile is linked to your child’s academic performance, and a Learning Plan that includes specific recommendations for home and school
|

Consultation with Learning Specialist or Neurodevelopmentalist after your receipt of the report and recommendations, to discuss any questions you might have and how to best implement our specific recommendations
|
• |
|
On request, a telephone conference with a teacher or tutor to discuss your child’s Learning Profile and the recommendations in our Learning Plan
|
• |
|
On request, school placement and advocacy consultation with an attorney |
