Comprehensive Assessment and Neuropsychological Evaluation

A neuropsychological evaluation  (or "neuropsych"),  also called an Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE), is designed to pinpoint a student’s developmental strengths and challenges. Psychoeducational assessments are one part of a comprehensive neuropsych.

We believe that by deeply understanding how each person learns, we can provide strategies and support that improve academics, build social-emotional skills, boost confidence, and create lasting success in school and life.

Yellin Center Assessment Process:

Initial Consultation

We will review your or your child's background and history, previous records, and academic, developmental, medical, and social-emotional concerns together.

Assessment

We will conduct a thorough, multi-disciplinary cross-battery assessment.

Feedback

We will discuss preliminary findings with you and your child soon after the conclusion of the assessment.

Report

We will write a report outlining your or your child's profile, linking neurodevelopmental strengths/challenges to academic difficulties, discussing social-emotional findings, and providing customized strategies and recommendations for home and school.

Report Consultation

We will meet after you review the report to discuss questions and how to best implement recommended strategies.

School Consultation

If desired, we will consult with your school (including IEP meetings), teachers, tutors, and other providers.

Ongoing management and support services are available following the evaluation as needed.

We customize our evaluation approach for each individual, from early childhood through young adulthood, including undergraduate, graduate, medical students, and young professionals. For more than 15 years, The Yellin Center has worked with medical students from regional, national, and international programs.
